How to study for marks that stick

Spaced repetition (what this app schedules for you)Each time you practise a topic and rate your recall, the study planner works out the best gap before you see it again — short gaps for shaky topics, longer gaps for strong ones. Reviewing just before you'd forget is one of the best-proven ways to make knowledge permanent.
Active recall beats re-readingClose the book and test yourself: past papers, flashcards, or explaining a topic out loud. Rate yourself honestly afterwards — the schedule only works if your ratings are honest.
Past papers are the real exam prepFrom about six weeks out, shift most sessions to timed past papers under exam conditions, then mark them with the memo. Mark schemes teach you how examiners award marks.
Interleave your subjectsTwo subjects per afternoon beats four hours of one. Switching forces your brain to reload what it knows — harder in the moment, stronger in the exam.
Protect the basicsSleep 8+ hours (memory consolidates while you sleep), keep your phone in another room during focus blocks, and use the 25-minute focus timer to stop sessions from drifting.

A fallback for subjects with no paper dates yet. The countdown and your review spacing follow each subject’s individual paper dates, which you set on the Subjects page.
